I think a good old fashined "we are all fucked" is warranted now and again. It's also referencing the recent flag controversies in the UK over the past year.

There is just a very specific kind of enthusiastic/authoritative/nerd voice that claude and other LLMs do does that is so grating to me. Like it's trying to be super upbeat and engaging and it comes off as trying too hard and

I guess that just seems like an incredibly arbitrary criteria. Why would the potential for pleasure in the future determine if I am currently conscious even if I am not in fact experiencing pleasure.

When's the last time a friend said hello to you in person and you just ignored them? When's the last time you messaged me unprompted? These seems like bizzare objections, a system can only act in the way that it can act. A tree is

The most convincing argument is that if other humans were not experiencing consciousness then they probably wouldn't waste large parts of their lives arguing about it.

>We're pretty clear on the distinction between a conscious and an unconscious human. You are using unconscious as a synonym for asleep, which is not the same thing as having no conscious experience due to dreams. We are clear on the

There are times I am feeling neither pain nor pleasure, but I am still experiencing conciousness. So that definition seems to fail immediately. And how do you even measure pain, is it painful for an LLM to be reprimanded after generating a

I see similar things using GLM 5.1 in pi. I had to turn off thinking traces because it was just giving me anxiety looking at it.

Musk bought a social media company for the specific purpose of getting Trump elected by turning it into a right wing propaganda machine. Have Anthropic/OpenAI/Google done something similar to that?

Writing atrophied our memory, calculators atrohpied our mental arithmetic, GPS nagivation atrophied our navigation ability, LLMs are atrophying our ability to program. When you externalise part of your brain in a new tool, like a calculator
