I'd say Juana Manso laptops are usable with FreeBSD. sure, you lose brightness control, you can't see how much battery remains, (I didn't try wifi but the 9650AC chip seems to be supported), but it is usable. audio works, USB

i made my own personal website [0] that loads in less than 512kb; with a mini bio, a blog (with RSS support), images, links to friends' websites, stuff i made/maintain, and some fluff[y boys] like a walking Ralsei [from Deltarune]

This situation reminds me of that one scene where a computer starts automatically updating, and the manager screams "F*CK MICROSOFT" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zpCOYkdvTQ

I really like the style with the monospace font and the catppuccin theme. the UI is smooth and very simple. maybe too simple. that said, I got a network error after downloading nearly half of the playlist, and now I have to start over. I wi

I really like the idea, as well as the "terminal" style the site has. however, I consider that an additional daily spend of $2 could be avoided. perhaps by caching common questions (like "what is this?"), or by using fre

seeing games being showcased in Hacker News is both a rare and a nice thing. they're usually included with some kind of blog/tech demo explaining how they were done, or including a link to the AI model used (if it applies), or som

i'm sure your react site is fine, but there's a difference between a static site and a site with a blog, music player, custom (lightweight) telemetry. i chose adding as much features as i could fit in that limited space.

I don't see the issue with this. tiktok DMs were made for sharing videos directly to someone, and reacting to those, not as a primary chatting method. if you think otherwise, I'd like you to explain why is the experience optimiz

TCC is my go-to for keeping builds lean. on windows specifically, you get a functional C compiler in a few hundred KB, whereas the standard alternatives require gigabytes of disk space (that I don't have to spare) and complex environme
