When was the last time you bought a ThinkPad? This is my third one and suspend works. The Trackpad is great, with three buttons. 24 Gb of RAM, 11+ hour battery life in Linux, and a 4-year at-home next-day repair plan. It was $1,900 includin

It wasn't done the right way in the past. Sometimes an implementation is 80% right and you just need to do a few things to get to 100%. It needs a better name than RSS/Atom. It should sound like English: "Subscribe to this we

Thanks, I didn't know that. Mozilla should make that more prominent so that users who don't know what RSS/ATOM is could "subscribe to this website" with just a click.

Most podcasts that I've encountered lately don't have RSS feeds listed. You have to view source to find the URLs. The Internet needs to revive that open technology culture. Instead of Facebook/Twitter/G+/etc. subscr

I'm referring to the after-close animation. To reproduce, open a Chrome window and open enough tabs to fill the top (ctrl-t), and then add a few more. Then click on a tab in the middle somewhere to select it. Close a few tabs quickly w

Using underlines for input boxes is not clear. And the animation everywhere is very disturbing. I have high sensitivity to visual motion, which is a useful thing in most other situations, but the web is becoming increasingly difficult to us

I had to know the answer, so I wrote a quick script to test it. It appears that incognito windows can't read cookies from normal windows. I've linked to the source code there. If I've missed anything, let me know. https:

> The new "Refresh" design looks more closely to a user interface designed using the rules and guides from Google's visual design language known as "Material Design." That's the most worrying thing about it.

If incognito mode is that broken in Chrome, and still allows sites that are open in normal tabs to track you, that would be very newsworthy.

You can see all open Firefox tabs, including titles, with a button to the right of the tabs. You can move a tab to the right with ctrl-tab and back to the left with ctrl-shift-tab. If you go too far, just ctrl-shift-tab. How would you go to

Are you sure about that? Wouldn't it mean that all third party trackers could continue to track you while in incognito mode? How could it be called incognito mode if sites can still read your non-incognito cookies?

It sounds like a terrible idea. What if you don't have Android, Microsoft, Apple, or Amazon products, or even a smartphone at all? Smartphones collect too much information and it shouldn't be required to link all that data just to

In the top left of the matrix, click on the `.com` part of the domain. I think that will change the scope to all sites rather than the current domain. Then block the JS column. It should then be blocked by default when you go to new sites.

Sometimes "3rd party" JS is served from within the page. Also many sites are hacked and will cloak the JS depending on how you visit the site. It's especially common with hacked WordPress sites.

In general, one should serve HTML on the web unless you're doing something that requires JavaScript. JS is a big security/privacy risk. At the moment, I keep JS and CSS off by default on my main browsing profile, overriding it w

What about Google's sharing of data with data brokers? Example: the wifi at Starbucks (run by Google) now appears to use Experian's API to verify that your email address exists in Experian's database. I would be surprised if
