This reasoning is based on false circumstances. SF has a landlord's market, so they have no reason to shave the price for more business, but they have ample reason to raise the price to extract as much value out of the property.

They do, I'm not sure how effective it is. They've been tweaking it a lot, which is a good thing. Ultimately though, management is the biggest influence by far on retention and team development.

Though not the focus of the article, I have a huge problem with the idea that leaders should pick out their best employees and reward them, while leaving the others treading water on their own. I am in the middle of watching a team constant

Perhaps because a to do list is so simple it can be covered by every type of framework, and doesn't warrant using the very features that justify each framework. I agree there's lots of "reinventing the wheel", but I don&

I don't think this article is giving enough consideration to what's going on with web application development. JavaScript is the de facto language of the web, so everyone is using it whether it's the right tool for the job or

This wasn't exactly the point I was making. The "tricked" comment was not that Google tricked him (and really this isn't particularly about Mike), but that it is easy to trick yourself into seeing it as a better outcome

I don't really see this as valid justification. This is the same explanation given every time, and every time the users are the ones completely screwed over. I think this is a justification to yourself rather than the underlying truth.

When thinking about the merits of the mod, there aren't any. You can get mini computer cases for cheap, and they would work much, much better than his trashcan. So what we're left with is the "look a trashcan looks like the M

Kind of funny, but what makes the new Mac Pro beautiful is the internal design, and that hackintosh is not beautiful on the inside.

Well now we can have a more productive debate. The "essence of property" as you state it of having absolute authority of what an individual can do with their property doesn't exist legally -- zoning laws are the first example

The entitlement argument is completely stupid, and really is only made from a perspective of entitlement. This is a matter of history and establishment. Back before the tech boom we see today, these people, who are now facing eviction, were

I used to ask myself this question all the time, I still ask it. The best answer I've come up with is: don't choose the language first. Pick the project to work on first. Once you've done that your field of (practical) langua

This whole issue of adding programming / computer science to the curriculum is overstepping and even outright ignoring the problems with our education system. If huge numbers of students graduate from high school without being able to

I'd say "find people who don't know they're doing something inefficiently, and build a simple, straight-forward product that gives them a more productive workflow."
