To be honest, I didn't even realize that the grey 'i' was supposed to be a warning. I'm so used to seeing the little "blank document" icon there that my eyes totally glossed over it. I doubt many people are e

Possibly, but I'd say it probably comes closer to matching the (relative) level of effort required to create an average piece of content for each platform. Video vs short video/image vs text.

I'm imagining something like the brother in Better Call Saul, where it's painful for him to be in the presence of cell phones or fluorescent lights, etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_hypersens

This is why using phone numbers as account identifiers is a bad idea. (For the users, at least. Not necessarily for the companies who want to own those users.)

It's also a sign of how blind adherence to tradition causes old biases to persist and prevents any kind of progress, good or bad.

Yeah, how dare all those little people complain when they're inadvertently crushed by the glorious Google behemoth. Don't they realize how insignificant they are? Their entire lives are simply rounding errors at Internet Scale.

Maybe my experience is different from the real data, but I seem to remember people originally hating Steam when it just had Half Life 2 and a handful of other Valve things. It was more or less useless (and sometimes actively harmful) until

This. Facebook as a company has no idea what it's doing when it comes to gaming. Remember when Farmville was king and social gaming on Facebook was going to be the future? Facebook is a platform for advertisers, but users are the one

I still find myself absently hitting the backspace key to go back once I've finished reading a long page and moved my hands away from the keyboard/mouse. Then I mash the key for a bit to bring up the alt+left notification hoping

You're exactly right that this would be incredibly annoying, but I think that should be the point. 99% of sites have no business accessing a lot of that stuff and popping up warnings every time they try to would make it a whole lot mo

I think this is a fundamental truth that is rarely acknowledged by the creators of "free" services. Delivering value to your users and increasing profit for the company are almost always in direct conflict. Large groups of users

Yeah...I have serious doubts about the longevity of the game. There's some cool tech behind it, and the sense of being part of a worldwide event is really impressive. But the core game itself just feels so...bland to me. The battle

I still think that better support for contextual identities would be a net-positive across the board for the web, but I have to say that this little stunt gave me a good chuckle. Bravo!

This is one of the few cases where I'm actually in favor of Chrome's rogue behavior, though I think they're probably doing it for the wrong reasons. I've been annoyed one too many times by webpages that refuse to allow
