Care to explain why? And what industry you're talking about? Kubernetes has made efforts for nodes to work with poor network connectivity. The node requirements aren't that big. A lot of use cases are relatively easy to containeri

So the important feature is H.264 encoding support on the GPU. I'm surprised that Lenovo is the one that would pay the licencing fee, I imagined that Nvidia would sell that bundled as part of the chip.

If the expertise isn't there then they should use SaaS solutions. There's plenty that aren't expensive. And they don't need to roll their own software.

Prejudice is also an English word that has a meaning unrelated to law. Calling JS developers most dumb is prejudice. The word's meaning is literally spelled out "pre" + "judge".

I remember pfsense from them trying to merge bug ridden code into FreeBSD for Wireguard support. The creater of Wireguard said it was bad with buffer overruns and they got angry for being called out. https://arstechnica.com/

Their QA process is based around their telemetry. They're not going to change it. Also exaggerating by saying "spy on their users" is just misrepresentative. And muddies the water when discussing actual spying on users comput

Then don't use Windows. If you aren't happy with Apple's telemetry, then use Linux. If you aren't happy with bug reporting tools remove it.

There's a reason these countries leaving their sphere of influence aren't a fan of Russia. Russia did invade Ukraine.

Maximised on my 4k display I see 26 album arts which look high resolution. How much ram would that take decoded? There's also the song data for what's playing now and next song. You don't seem to understand what the applicati

The problem is that your 8 year old ThinkPad is less powerful than a $300 smartphone. Electron will be using GPU rendering. What kind of GPU performance does your 8 year old laptop have? Probably a minimum of 5x less performance than a smar

Ultimately the performance loss means more productive developers and faster new features for applications. Especially in a time when smartphones are the main platform for most consumers.

The Spotify application displays album art as images in a screen. They are relatively high resolution. That look good on my 4k screen. How much ram do those decoded assets take up? Your 8MB ram computer would not handle network streaming, d

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. Let's say you had two routers. 1 with NAT and 1 without. They both will have a firewall that by default blocks incoming traffic. So they are functionally equivalent.

Even if you have IPv6, you will be firewalled so that no ports are open for inbound traffic. You can buy a 4G modem and have the same issue.

Apart from the lack of public IPv4 addresses, the other reason that people cite for NAT use is security. IPv6 does not need NAT.

Any network engineer will tell you that NAT is an illusion of security. It's the job of a firewall to prevent routing to private networks. The issue with IPv4 is that there is a limited amount of addresses so we've had to make do.
