How true is this still? Google Checkout was rolled out ages ago (in tech years). The Google today is quite different. I have been reading about "poor Google customer service" for years, almost like it's a running joke of anecdotes. Years ag

I never understood the simultaneous hate of PHP and praising of JavaScript. They're both awful languages that are popular because amauteur programmers can easily get started and churn apps. There is just as much, if not more, horribly writt

Invite-only creates hype around your product. Google wants people to Tweet and post on Facebook: "I got an invite into the new Google Maps!". Simple marketing.

I hope they add a feature to change the Start Screen wallpaper. I have to use Decor8 just for that, but it's worth it in my opinion. The Start Screen looks much better when you use the same wallpaper as your desktop, but blur it a bit.

I wonder how much revenue these channels would produce if comments were universally disabled. Nearly every popular YouTube video is its own discussion board. There are people discussing the video, other comments, and completely unrelated to

Why is this? If everyone else is using it to the degree that swiping is (quoted from another post) "ancient history", then why is the U.S. so behind? I don't live in a big city, but I travel a fair amount across the U.S. I have never seen a

That depends how "obvious" the troll is. In this case, having no domain knowledge on this subject, I would prefer to see arguments against the troll as to why there are no memory leaks, then for the troll to be left unopposed but merely dow

That's silly, the coach is key to the athletics department he was hired to work for, just as the CEO and sales guy are key to their respective departments (or in the case of the CEO, the entire company).

I think that idea works for programmers too. Designer: Creates frontend to their portfolio. Programmer: Creates backend to their portfolio. My favorite portfolios are those where they create the backend and frontend, and host everything on

I eat lots of Amy's low-sodium organic soup. I dunno, it's quick and easy, and tastes good. Doesn't seem like there are too many canned soup lovers around here.

I find subreddits that have disabled image posting to be far more insightful and interesting. Once a subreddit allows image posting it degrades to memes, unless it's properly moderated.

If you're a programmer I see no reason to have a LinkedIn profile. GitHub is better for résumé and networking.

My dad still pays despite having Comcast since forever. He thinks he'll lose his email he's had forever if he cancels. I've tried many times to convince him otherwise but.. some people just don't get technology and the Internet.

My only concern with benefit programs like these is if I'm earning less income because the company is allocating money for benefits I may not need.

Dave Shea's ZenGarden, MezzoBlue and AListApart were, and still are, huge inspirations to web designers. I followed those blogs intently in High School. ALA's 2004 CSS sprites post was largely responsible for its widespread adoption.

Are there any publications regarding how much money Twitch streamers make? I imagine actual regular casters of top eSports, like LoL and SC2, are making much more money than some dude streaming World of Warcraft.

I've always wondered why YouTube doesn't push seriously into the video game and eSport streaming business. Most streamers have YouTube channels that they advertise on Twitch. YouTube is obviously massively popular, and could possible grant

learc83 is referring to the "annual commitment" plan (see the drop down) of the "complete" package, which includes all software: https://creative.adobe.com/plans But you are correct that if someone only wants Photoshop, they only pay $19.
