You can do what you described with Next.js and latest React easily. In addition, it will also help with SSR where it makes sense for speed and performance. Building site with Next.js makes it simple to get a good perceived performance, the

I have been using Kimsufi servers (OVH cheap end) for more than 10 years and have not experienced any major outages (and can't remember even small ones). I still have one dedicated server there. 14eur/mo for i5 750, 16gb ram and 2

I also want to point out that you will likely get a better Wayland experience on KDE. They are much more active in implementing Wayland protocols and overall it feels more solid. This makes me sad because I really like how Gnome looks like,

Wayland is usable. It is simply not fully used. Wayland is just a protocol and there are multiple implementations in different compositors. Instead of focusing on a single great implementation, there are multiple average and weak implementa

Not sure how exactly 16 inch 4K display is Linux friendly knowing that Xorg and Wayland still has plenty of UI scaling issues. And the fact that they expect you to power it with Pentium N5030 processor is laughable. Why even offer such comb

The thing with docker-compose.yml is that it is well known, well documented and relatively easy to learn and get running even for more complex configurations. I would not want to go through that common shell script for every new project bec

Seems like you are supposed to create service for each container and then somehow else manage service dependencies, network and other aspects which are trivial when using docker compose. Instead of having single simple docker-compose.yml fi

Nice post, but I really dislike the idea of creating unit files for each container. docker compose was a step forward, this is certainly going back and I will probably never use it no matter how many times someone says that this is the cano

In EU all the banks have to support a common standard. They all use that standard to interface.

Some already do, depends on what you have bought. I would start by reading Home Assistant documentation, that tends to help figure out if it has local API. And you can almost never go wrong with devices that use Zigbee.

What is the issue then? I have colleagues in Ukraine and bank transfers at least from EU work just fine. Heard about using Bitcoin as their only option from people who moved to EU from Crimea.

They do "work", but the dynamic GPU switching is problematic, especially with Wayland. Especially when using external monitors. I could not have decent performance and heat/noise using external monitors. You can (and really h

Even though M1 MBP runs Linux, it has a very basic GPU driver, no hardware acceleration for video decoding/encoding. The "Fastest CPU + GPU + battery life" probably will not be true if using Linux on it. Would be great if Asa

I wonder if Mastodon can even scale because of the federation. When I tried running Matrix server, joining any large federated Matrix servers made the server unusable and it had to be stopped. I am not saying it will be the case with Mastod
