It's been a while since a I wrote a make file but as far as I remember it was very easy to create a full featured cmake file if the project used the layout which cmake assumed (easy for new projects). However, porting existing projects

Btw. your example is missing the bus factor. But I understand your point and actually I do not think that salaries are meant to depend 100% on performance. I think it is more like 90% of time the person invests and 10% performance bonus. Th

Well yeah, it sucks. I think the problem here is, that an URL was supposed to be a stable, unique identifier for a ressource (like a UUID). But at the same time humans have to enter them and therefore they have to be nice, shiny and up to d

Maybe removing triangles which have one very narrow angle could help. After normalization those trinagles do not hold a lot information anyway ;-)

I wanted to write that exact same first sentence (what a weird experience). :D :D Another thing is escaping: when you write sed regexs in a bash script you have to use slightly different escaping sequences sometimes...

Some years ago I had problems with recursions too, because I always had some edge cases which made my functions go wild (endless loops). But one day someone told me, that most recursive programs can be written into the skeleton below:

It's funny to see such projects while one of the main reasons to built Telegram in the first place was to built something with a simple http api (vs. the non-http XMPP api) ;-)

Well, buffering that kind of stuff, is one of the more complex parts of an XMPP server (XEP-0013, XEP-0160, XEP-0280, XEP-0313). AFAIK IRC bouncers tunnel all the traffic and are not mobile aware. So to reduce battery usage, XMPP has some f

I am not sure if P2P is a step forward. P2P is okay when you have a stable connetion, but when it comes to mobile communication you want to have some sort of always-on service to store/buffer your messages. From the technology perspect

So if generics in java don't do anything beyond 'get typechecked, and insert implicit casts.' the empty interface is enough for all use-cases in go?

I know there is a lot of discussion about generics, but I am not sure if that is missing the point. I mean 'generics' sounds like a complex concept from the java development and I am uncertain if that's really what we need in
