The problem is that every git UI I've tried of the past ~10 years abstracts core concepts in order to (try to) simplify things, then people make a mess and don't have the slightest clue why or how to fix it. The git CLI for the va

AFAIK they never tell you why you fail. It's quite possible/likely that your friend failed for another reason.

I think the author's point is exactly the opposite - he's more impressed by people who experienced adversity in their early years and (presumably) have overcome it to the point where they're interviewing with him.

I think 5) has some merit, but wasn't worded as carefully as it could have been. I find many of the things I dislike most in others are the "failings" that I have a natural proclivity for, but have worked hard to overcome. I&

Queenslanders work fine in Queensland, where the lows in winter are still double-digit C. Most of the world (or even Aus) isn't like that. A Queenslander in Canberra would have a massive heating bill 8 months of the year to keep it saf

It's also about facilities. Having a full kitchen and separate rooms makes a world of difference when you're traveling with kids.

I'm the opposite, as well. We recently visited the US for a month - our travel agent booked hotels in Anaheim and San Diego for us, and we used Airbnb for the rest. The first hotel was fine, but barely. The second was horrendous - it s

My ex worked at a medical research school for a while - part of her job was snapping the necks of test mice. They do it that way because it's the most humane (as in, quick and painless) way. Killing thousands of mice did have a non-zer

ROI is only half of the equation, though. It will tell you the maximum the employer is willing to pay. But the wage is determined by the least amount a suitable employee is willing to accept, which is affected by how interesting the work

I'd say that I'm in a similar position to you, though not as fit. I do a short HIIT session every day and am marginally chubby. What's your non-fasting diet like? Fasting is the quickest way to get into ketosis. If you'r

For mobile, I just use the `pass` Android app. It's very simple as an editor, but has build-in git support. My biggest issue has been forgetting to push and then creating merge conflicts, which don't work well on encrypted files.

I've switched to pass + git for my task list, diary, notes, creative writing. And of course passwords. It's working far better than the mix of things I was using previously.

That's not my experience. I've done a few 72hr fasts, and many 48hrs fasts. In general I find I have more focus, more even mood and more enthusiasm (though less energy for physical activity) while fasting.

> Or your co-worker is out there on the weekend holding signs that say "Death to Gays" and you just happen to be gay? In the early social media days, I worked in a small team with a man and a woman for a couple of years. When
