That's an excellent perspective that I hadn't thought of before. How would you go about doing that? More beer doesn't necessarily correlate to lower salaries -- you might be trading off inclusiveness or safe work environment

Good point. I don't value flat organizations, but that doesn't mean my company has a hierarchy. You're definitely right.

The value is called "bonded by love of product" not "Employees use product". I'm not really convinced that's what it means.

I would second the option to negate some of these "values." There are about eight that I don't consider to be "values", but just to pick one of them at random, I don't consider "has good beer" to be a

Right, but the OP's point is that if I watch your kid for you, and you think I'm doing an OK job, then you and I can reach an arrangement separate from UberSitting. Say UberSitting charges $15/hr, where I get $10/hr and

I take my hearing aid out when I'm at the barber, because he sprays my hair with water, and I don't want him to snip my hearing aid with the scissors. I thought everyone with these hearing aids took them out, but the author mentio

I've noticed this phenomenon as well, but one thing you can do is watch the network traffic on your router, and you'll see that they aren't snooping in on your conversations. What's likely happening is that Facebook know

I also really enjoyed the books, but definitely more from a "these are cool ideas" perspective than from great narrative storytelling. Something was probably lost in translation, but the ideas were really great. I especially like

That's my assumption! I think A is a bizarre solution, but I absolutely think they've tested the crap out of this and that the way it works is the one that makes the most conversions for them. Still... crazy!

I must admit the whole idea of font design mystifies me. If you put 100 fonts in front of me, I'm not sure I could tell you which ones looked better than others, beyond serif/sans-serif and tall/fat. For someone to put this m

Like I said, I'm positive they A/B test the crap out of it, so I'm sure it brings in more conversions... but that is sooo counter-intuitive, I'm not sure what the rationale is.

This happens to me all the time, as well. I read a lot, and I buy a book on my Kindle and two days later get a promo email with the same book in it. I imagine their emails are just less sophisticated and target tens of thousands of customer

I read about 1-2 books per week... but I also have a 45 minute commute by train each way, so I get a solid 90 minutes of reading in. I'm also a fairly fast reader, though, and I love to read more than just about anything, so maybe that
