Even without time machine there are loads of storage spent on “system”. Especially now with the apple intelligence (even when turned off).

What would “best” even mean? There is no absolute criterium the test for.

I would expect different types of map and then: map :: (a -> b) -> Maybe a -> Maybe b then :: (a -> Maybe b) -> Maybe a -> Maybe b Although for Maybe these are not too different.

I agree that N=3 (and also N=2 for that matter) could be distributed better. EDIT: but for large N these things probably don’t matter that much. And I guess that’s the application in the end.

You also don’t need pedmas if you just use parentheses to disambiguate your expressions. That’s what mathematicians would do.

What about the reverse: a post only shows up after 24h after submission? :-)

The question is garbage. But people will ask it with their best intentions and not know it’s garbage.

In Haskell gMaker(0)(24)(myStr) and gMaker(0, 24, myStr) would have the same syntax, namely gMaker 0 24 myStr. So that solves the issue.

I like how the last paragraph completely oversells my photographing skills. The picture was not meant to be unique. It seems to always end with such a paragraph, even for dumb photos of nothing really. “The photo's perspective is uniqu

Or they just stop with all this nonsense by not having third party tracking cookies in the first place. Legitimate usage of cookies doesn’t need such a banner.

To me “rendering engine” also means something else. Namely taking html and rendering it to the screen.

To me the vertical lines help me read the chart. I wouldn’t call them unnecessary. Also, depending on what the data means, maybe you want to add 0 on that line.

It’s good to realise the Dutch cycling infrastructure did not came out of nowhere. There were huge protests in the 70’s about traffic safety. At that time cars ruled the roads and there a lot of accidents, also involving children. From thos

Thanks! I was not at all aware of the scale of training! To me those are crazy amounts of gpu time and resources.

It’s crazy: full frames with a solid blue and red alternating. To me also very unpleasant, but an effect I haven’t seen before.

There is some nice information in the appendix, like: “One training with a schedule similar to the one reported in the paper represents ≈ 30 GPU-days. We also roughly estimate that the total GPU-days used for running all our experiments to

Both windows and macos (the operating systems) have this built-in under accessibility. It’s worth a try and I use it sometimes when I want to read something while cooking.

> Monomorphization is necessary for the most efficient code. That is not always true. Monomorphisation also leads to code size increase, because the function is compiled for each type. This may decrease cache efficiency.

I don’t think the conclusion need a lot of precision in the benchmark. When the suggested code from the standard library (or some tutorial) is two orders of magnitude slower, something is not right. The author is right that we are wasting s

I agree that these things should smooth it out. But so far the reality shows they do not.
