Strong agreement. xorshift or even a basic LCG work far better than Mersenne Twister. The only reason MT has persisted in the public consciousness for so long is because it has a memorable and cool name.

To be honest, before the modern machine learning approach, this was known as a decision tree and was thought to be a valid way to approach "artificial intelligence". Lots of "AI" hype in the 80s was based around "Ex

Correct. SteamOS is a passion project by Gabe because of a grudge with Microsoft, and it's basically all contractors. Nobody at Valve internal gives a shit, in fact they're more worried about Epic Games than MS.

Abusing the framebuffer contents to do convincing-unless-you-stare-closely-at-them reflections is a time-honored tradition stretching back to the early 2000s. Nintendo pulls off this effect a couple of times in this shot: https://

Fusion is hard. At least, unconstrained fusion is hard. If you have a couple instructions pairs to fuse together, that's fine, but fusing any possible compiler output together is going to make decode even more complicated in practice

If you have released a work under GPL, that work stays under GPL. The term "relicensing" here means that going forward, new new works will be released under new licenses. So version 1 can be GPL, but version 2 can have other terms

Converting from 44.1k to 48k is lossless, and has always been. Converting from 48k to 44.1k is practically lossless: You lose frequencies above 28KHz, but that's about the range at which human hearing drops off anyway. > Recall that

This specific component is a SPIR-V backend for Rust. In practice, how you use this is you use a native API (Vulkan), give it your generated SPIR-V program, and it "runs it" using its own semantics. This is a combination of a user
