I get the impression his past ideology looked down on that kind of volunteering, this is someone who thinks working for DOGE (department of government efficiency) is a humanitarian action.

tbh it sounds much more like he wants to be viewed as a saviour than actually improve anything significant to me. "what I actually wanted was to look like Elon" feels like he's getting very close to grasping something fundame

I'm amazed he didn't even seem to entertain it as an option. It's quite unusual because even a total narcissist would eventually land on philanthropy as an ego-trip

Perhaps I missed something, but from what I saw none of his attempts to do something new seemed to involve any kind of genuine efforts to improve the lives of others... Bit amazing that wasn't even something he would consider.

How much of this is due to them not visiting and how much is due to the change in dynamics though? Think it's conceivable them not wanting to see the baby early on or in the hospital might suggest a fairly critical divergence of intere

"By the time I was 16, I had been to five or six funerals" May be an Irish specific thing but I probably had been to 16 by the time I was five or six.

Hah! It's upvoted now but I was really confused by it too tbh and I usually am not; guessing it was either less coherent than I thought and/or someone misread it entirely.

RE: stars and DL counts, I'd say the best measure is checking the creator's other repos, their number of followers and the issue churn rate. Stars can be useful but only as a very rough process of elimination. If the project appea

Resale value is probably a better metric, if it's $130 new and $100 second hand while the other one is $100 new and sub-$50 second hand that'll be a fairly good sign that it at least works. It's still not 100% but it'd a

I think there's much bigger deviations from long term stability the closer you get to a GUI as things deviate further from ideals into brute force hacks for stuff to look right. Can remember trying to update a Unity project so it'

What bitrates are you using? I see practically no difference between v0 and anything above that on most things but sub 192kbps it can be very evident. I feel like a lot of the FLAC people have a hardcoded bias from the Limewire days that&#x

Bill Clinton got elected as president with 43% of the vote. The US system with more than two parties would have the exact same issues. Here's an election in the SDP split largely from Labour; the result was ultimately the Conservatives
