That makes no sense. Most local businesses don’t even have ads on bus stops. Let alone that being where most of their profits are invested???

Local businesses would benefit substantially from the bikeshare service though.

Yes, ex-smokers should not regret their past smoking habits. There is no point in letting past decisions affect your present emotions.

In my experience Steam is slow and crashes often. I don’t generally care about UI updates (which Steam does actually have)

Bike priority infra is absolutely anemic compared to car centric infra. Even in New York. Your concern makes no sense in that regard. As much as I’d love to see it.

While it would be nice to have bike lanes flow against the flow of traffic, it’s not realistic- sometimes the bike lane is blocked and you necessarily have to mix with traffic.

It’s in its best interest. Do San Fransisco homeowners enjoy homelessness and the violence and crime that comes with it?

Gen Z is stressed out because the world is incredibly expensive and competitive for them in a way it wasn’t for elder millennials and other older generations. That’s really all there is to it.

I am very much in the “anti-WFH” camp, in the sense that I would never work for a company that is primarily remote. I would gladly sign up for a 4 day work week. In fact, a 4 day in-office hybrid model would be perfect. As long as the work

We seem to be going in the opposite direction of a “post scarce” world where everything is getting more expensive and most people I know are working longer hours or multiple jobs to survive.

In this case it just makes sense to have RTO at reduced hours. Make the standard work day something like 10-4. I never understood why people throw the baby out with the bathwater on things like this.

Training a model on another person’s work shouldn’t be considered theft, but the model also shouldn’t be allowed to generate profits. Without of course compensating the owner of the training data. Someone needs to come up with a royalty str

I’m not following your two sentiments. With high income disparity, isn’t it extremely cheap for high earners to go on holiday? Where I assume the restaurant and hotel staff are paid poorly?

Why is it so unbelievable that execs simply believe RTO is beneficial for their business?

The article mentions that 80% of all restaurant items will be eaten at home by 2030. This further cultural entrenchment of people into homebodies is really sad to me. Really hope this does not happen. I am assuming of course that the implic

All you can eat within reason is certainly lame. Charging customers for food left on the plate is quite reasonable though. I’m sure a lot gets left on the plate and the waste must be nauseating.

A proper contextualization of the number must include how old the average covid victim was. In my neck of the woods at least, hospitalizations and deaths were heavily skewed towards those in their 70s and 80s respectively.

Self driving technology is much more scalable than a bad or negligent driver. So it is natural to be more concerned about it, even if you’re convinced that on average it has performed better than humans.

You can still walk and bike in the suburbs I’m thinking of- it’s just dangerous and/or extremely inefficient a lot of the time. And getting worse because of larger cars and road design prioritizing vehicle speed over everything.
