Thanks! I'll keep looking. I'm not uncomfortable with a soldering iron... but it's just not where I want to spend my time and mental energy these days. I see they're going to be expensive, and that's OK for me. I pl

I use a WASD V3 with my Mac mini.

I did find ZMK, thanks! It seems though that - you have to go buy a board and a shield and put stuff together yourself - at least that's how it looked to me.

Perhaps unfair to inject a mini-AskHN, but here goes: I'm a Mac user these days, and I have seen that one can go down the rabbit hole with keyboards. I have zero interest in building one. I do have a WASD keyboard, but I've also

"How about you send a 13-digit number instead"?

It's surprising to read that. No one at work hates it so much, afaik. I wonder what's different about our channel lineup, usage habits, or anything else that is such a contrast to your experience.

Almost certainly.

If you're wiring a home - wouldn't lay-people want it to look nice? Are these made with any way to hide them in walls, exposing a usable port (even if RJ-45?) Or if not - how should one think about deploying all this in a new hom

The word poach can be used more generally.

Currently scouring the US. No joy here either.

Mind naming the brand? We got a single pot model (59500P) by Vollrath to test out induction. We love it and wish all hobs had controls by single digit percentage. We cannot seem to find a cooktop equivalent. Edit: I read further and real

More current, more wires, more circuits... seems to me the smallest unit of replacement is a whole building that gets a good electrical rewiring. In NYC those will be large buildings.

I now break it up in my head as "Worce", which isn't too far of a stretch to read as "worse", and then "ster". It may be all kinds of wrong, I'm not sure, but it helped keep my sanity (on this one poi

Out of curiosity, what benefit do you get by flashing the AP vs the stock firmware?

Any idea how one makes an offer when the details are obfuscated or hidden behind registrar data? I see broker services but that seems for commercial needs (and already more than I would want to pay) (Example: a domain I want is just sitti

What I've read talks about character insertion and concepts that apply to editing text. Perhaps I just need to find bedrock to build up from about the properties of a stronger datatype that allow CRDTs to work.

by Jailbird 5y ago
Drifting off-topic but I've wondered this myself - I've been interested in CRDTs in a "read the news" way but not a "this rises to something I'm going to implement" way. Perhaps it's blindingly obviou

I feel the same way. Despite this comment, I'm far more reticent to share an opinion, and I don't find that I have so many great unknown facts to enlighten others. I do like getting one or two "Internet points" on HN ov

Not a resident. I just found it installed due to HN. I am in MA at this time.... and have no idea when it was installed. (Of course I uninstalled it immediately)

You don't assign all the seats up front. Some are marked to be assigned at the gate.

I think the zoning laws in your area prevent you from operating a nuclear plant or a meat processing facility. (Sorry, it's just Hello Kitty shops for you! :) )

Leaving billions aside, they were granted local monopolies in many places due to their investment. One might argue they have not been good stewards of that responsibility.

It wasn't obvious how much use or how chronic the use had to be - is it implied to be chronic heavy drinking or just the glass of wine a day that causes the changes?

OK since photon_lines is reading, do you want any comments? For instance, right on page 4 of the (not numbered) PDF - I tripped over the word "discreet", where ostensibly you meant "discrete". If not - s'ok. Just

That is decidedly abnormal in the NYC area. Eat as you wish, but you may find it more enjoyable our way!
