Apologies for the clickbait headline. My dad worked in IT and used the same keyboard for like 20+ years. Part of me hopes that one day I can find a board that survives for an extended period of time, but I guess modern spending habits and b

I've just habitually never learnt to do number entry with a numpad, I kinda envy those people that can. Also any time my hands leave the home row it feels kinda wrong.

Thanks for the recommendation, the keychron K1 is definitely something I've been looking at closely. I've heard some complaints about the bluetooth connectivity not being great. They recently announced a budget friendly version th

My only point was to dismiss the original commenter. It's not constructive to argue in a vacuum and completely ignore the argument points laid out by the author in the article.

You obviously didn't read the article. The author argues that with current tech we'll eventually hit a bottle neck providing additional training data, which will limit any rapid self improvement. It's equally as speculative t

The 23 minute video linked on the "ultimate notion setup for 2023" sounds like a great trap to fall into to not actually get anything done. I get the impression some people spend more time configuring these productivity tools inst

There's an obvious difference between companies collecting and selling your data for profit and developer tooling collecting some metrics to improve the product.

I couldn't care less if it's phoning home by default, the data helps build a better product. Opt in telemetry is basically useless as you're self selecting for people that discover/care enough to enable the feature. In a

Times I've profiled large tests suites / codebases in the past, this has been entirely down to import overheads. Quite a difficult thing to fix ... I'm hoping this PEP Proposal for lazy imports might solve things: https:

Likewise, I think people have a negative first experience because it doesn't work exactly like node, throw their toys out the pram and complain on HN for the rest of time. Guess in taking this stance we're both part of the problem

It's a tad confusing. I believe you're totally correct, this is how those headers should behave. > The headers are defined at the http level and with caching layers in between, the endpoint is free to return the current feed
