Dude, Carmack was never a consoles guy, he didn't like the Genesis nor the SNES, he didn't like the Playstation, Saturn and N64, etc... If he was excited by nextgen consoles, now THAT would be news...

From experience those who say they'll never sell at any price are often the ones that end up selling for peanuts. Anyone can talk the talk, and since that movie saying you wont sell is the "tough guy quote of the day".

Been there, didn't had an awful experience but it wasn't good either, the guy I worked with was a D time manager but I was able to agree to a fixed fee. Still, a 2 month project became 6 months of constant delays. Can't say being a dev help

I'm getting a sort of deja-vu feeling, this thing reminds me of all those desktop docks for laptops that appeared during the '90s when I was a kid. I remember it seemed really cool, but in practice it was a pain in the ass.

It wont for simple economic reasons: if (big IF) consoles really go down in popularity that means there wont be enough users to justify selling units at a loss, the main reason why consoles were always cheaper than gaming rigs. Just look at

We don't have the technology to make volumetric holograms, the closest thing is some persistence of vision-like system made by a Japanese company that's very low-res and can make you blind if you stand too close to it.

Do you realize how absurd and contradictory you are being right now? NeXT was an actual company and didn't get any funding while complete hacks like the one in the article got millions and didn't even have a product. A NeXT was used by TimB

NeXT wasn't a terrible business and it had many of the same ideas that AAPL uses today, like top-of-the-line industrial design. Do you even realize there were 5 years between Jobs arrival at AAPL and the iPod right? 3+ years if we count the

The ultimate lifehacking is going from rag to riches by selling a completely useless "item" that some people find extremely valuable, thus further inflating it's perceived value. You probably don't need much to do it, and the revenues from

Maybe but the thing is that people you mention also go to expensive schools because of the prestige, not the learning part, so you wont be able to convince them of going to a community college.
