It’s crazy what a small group of smart people can achieve if they’re not captive to conventional wisdom. They got crushed by the commodity curve and Moore’s Law. But still a great story - and thankfully written by a real person. The author

Not a “Gamer” so I’m always surprised small things like this make a difference. As a rule of thumb, what is a minimum frame rate a game needs? From there how much does each extra fps make a difference, and at what point do you hit diminishi

Just last week had Kimi recreate my Wordpress website step by step into plain HTML, a tiny amount of interactive JS, and a python script to send email from the contact form. Of course it helped that I could reuse the assets, but the new sit

Lots of interesting stuff in your post, thank you for sharing it. But please just write in your own voice - LLMs just make it worse.

I’ve always considered this a token gesture. They paid $3000 each to 500,000 authors. Doesn’t change the fact that each author’s blood sweat and tears were the input to their machine, and they can make money on the output of that machine in

This was a thought experiment about UIs if the windows and mouse metaphor hadn’t taken off. As developers we have the best of both worlds: direct visual manipulation, but also a language-centric control of richer objects in the terminal. Be

Could this standpoint be any more unsympathetic? I guess the culture at Facebook was set very early and we’re still seeing the effect of that play out today.
