The e-bike analogy in the article is a good one. Paraphrasing: Use it if you want to cover distance with low effort. But if your goal is fitness then the e-bike is not the way to go.

Great, thanks for sharing your code. Could you please add a license so I and others can understand if we're able to use it?

I used Bolt many times in Estonia to rent e-scooters, it was extremely smooth.

Great overview. It would seem that the old rule of thumb of booking long in advance to get a cheaper ticket isn’t really relevant anymore?

If about 4 million KG of gold is normally produced a year, then this newly available gold will quickly drive down prices, leaving only Bitcoin as a store of value. Talk about unintended consequences…

I was shocked how much I was paying in "cheap" cloud VMs. I moved most of them over from Digital Ocean and Upcloud to a bargain basement provider (I used https://www.vpsbenchmarks.com to find one). 70% less every month

This resonates so hard with me! Except in my case it’s the Apple ][. I’ve decided it’s completely unnecessary to justify this retro computing passion, there’s nothing wrong with venerating the ingenuity, ethos and craftsmanship of the time.

There’s two strains of Labrador, often called the British and the American. Then British are the traditional goofy food-obsessed family dogs. The American are more working dogs - much more energetic than their British counterparts and less

After spending the last 3 weeks to get agents to work reliably I went for a much simpler pattern. Agents feel like they’re in the six fingers on a hand stage.

Sanctions are at best a stopgap measure. Ideally they would buy enough time to shore up domestic capabilities. Instead, cutting research funding and discouraging foreign students/researchers from coming to the US means that there will

I remember the first time I went into an Apple Store. I was looking at a 17” PowerBook, salivating at the screen and performance but struggling with justifying the price tag. An incredibly nice lady walked up to me and asked if I had any qu

Why are so many fancy/custom keyboards angled so the back keys are slightly higher than the front keys? The completely flat MacBook Air keyboard just feels perfect to me.

Same here, I’d be very interested to learn how others decide what model to use for which tasks. I find these minutes-long iterations so painful that in practice I always go for the fast non-reasoning models.
