Thank you! I want to write the loading logic to get the insanely complex systems like the one you linked. I'm curious to see what the performance will be like.

It was complete coincidence. I was trying to think of something fun, and slightly more complicated than hello world or the simple dice roller I whipped up. Your GoL implementation is so pretty though. I really need to work on my design skil

It was pretty straightforward. I had never had any experience with SDL before, and I figured it out pretty quickly just from comments and the function names. I did use a tiny bit of code from the tutorial on 2D platformers linked by someone

I actually used a few snippets of this tutorial to figure out how to use the SDL bindings. I'd never used SDL before.

Author here, I spent this weekend making an implementation of a lesser known (to me at least) cellular automaton, Wireworld. It was my first non-trivial project in Nim. I had a lot of fun. It uses SDL 2 as the graphics engine. Let me know i

Yea, I think it would be cool to use. The only thing I'm missing on my iPad Pro is a good way to work on programming.

I'm curious to hear of a few examples of how you're doing that. Would you mind sharing?

Is Alfred really that much better than the updated Spotlight? I used to use it (free version), but I find that Spotlight does everything I want/need that I'm aware of.

When talking about the dropout rate, I imagine a lot of detractors don't think about people like me. I often register for tons of MOOCs just so I can have an archive of the material and assignments for later. I often don't have ti

I use R for my statistical programming mostly, but I use Python for a lot of other things. It's nice to have this as a reference when I don't feel like moving back to R.

I've only been exposed to Scala through a Coursera course, but it was a very enjoyable experience. I find myself using things I learned from that course in almost every program I've written since.

He didn't really "use science to make [his] work day freakishly healthy." He got a treadmill desk, stopped eating so much, and did little bodyweight exercises during the day. That's just being healthier.

Whoops, I thought I was answering a question about my rejection sampling article. My mistake. I'll address this though. 1) No it doesn't. I don't make any distributional claims for these calculations. You're right. I hav
