Yea, I just use the types of problems that you’d see on Leetcode or any of the other code practice sites. The one that I did this morning was: If given the root of a binary tree, calculate the number of unival subtrees contained in the tree

I’ve been using spaced repetition to do algorithm puzzles. I find them really fun, and I’ll be looking for a job in a little less than a year. So, I thought I’d get a jumpstart on preparing. I don’t use them to memorize the answers, but mor

I don’t understand why Microsoft hasn’t pulled the GitHub integration into VS Code. It seems like it would be in their best interest given that they own both now.

I have an Oryx Pro as well. When I don’t need the power, I find myself grabbing my iPad with “Pencil”. It’s probably a function of what I do. When I’m not coding or playing a game, I’m reading papers and writing math. When I’m on the go, I’

I didn't see any comparison to other simpler methods. I'd like to see how well a time series model works.

Between the autoplay ad video, the modal popover, the request for notification privileges, the fixed topbar with ads, the interstitial ads, and the huge sidebar ads, I couldn't get past the first sentence.

Yea but when I did, I couldn’t really find any reference to it devoid of Nazi association.

I mean they didn’t invent it, but the author of the book that did was a member of the German Nationalist movement that eventually (~75 years later) evolved into the Nazi party. It’s not like it was completely disassociated with Nazi history

I just looked that phrase up. That’s some supremely bad taste from the author.

No data is better than 10 years of useless data. I’d much rather be in the position of designing the data collection (experimental design ftw) than trying to fix the problems with an overly complicated modeling project. Buuut, I am a statis

You’re vastly overestimating the human brain’s ability to accurately recall first hand accounts. It’s actually kind of shocking how bad eyewitnesses are at remembering details.

Unlike the others, I took it to mean the loss, the gap in one’s life, after their ambitions are fulfilled. If one has led an ambitious, successful life, their early life is filled with problems and purpose. Later years have lost that purpos

My first instinct says that if you just project the corners straight down (because of orthographic projection) onto the XZ plane, then the area of the shadow is just the area of the convex hull of those projected points. I don’t know how to

Yea I was thinking something similar, the alignment of the eyes is also most similar to that class as well. The reason we find the frown to be most important is our understanding that this is a common symbolic representation of an emotion.
