Maybe those american companies simply shouldn't track the users and follow the local laws? The majority of GDPR fines are avoidable, if the websites would just use GDPR-compatible tracking banners, but they decided to break the law =&g

What if my highspeed internet flatrate is used up? After that I only have a slower speed (64 kbit/s) This should be enough to render text-based sites. E.g. HN or news sites. But the reality is, that basically no side is able besides HN

Yes. I enjoy writing C and as long as it does not face the internet and does not handle that much untrusted input I will just use it. I frankly haven't found an ecosystem in which I feel more comfortable than the one from C. Yes, C has

I simply don't like those binary formats. I can't use sed, grep, etc. with .docx files. My workflow for doing notes is primarily CLI-based, and thus using Word/Libreoffice is something I avoid if possible and if it makes sens

Yeah, KDE Connect did the same. I think it is the fault of the network stack of one those two devices, otherwise I can't explain that. Maybe that the devices receive/send data faster than they are able to process. (Is this even p

For me transmitting any file over the network between my android(Termux) and my laptop(Fedora) is awful. It starts with a quite fast transmission (Like 60 Mbps), but always drops to just a few kbps after a few hundred megabytes. Netcat does

I use it daily since around 9 months, it is a great IDE. Even for non-GNOME applications, as you can write plugins that e.g. integrate linters/language servers with just a bit of effort compared to e.g. IntelliJ or Eclipse.

Agreed. And while rust has fantastic ideas, those are frankly often badly executed: - Static linking of everything - Big dependency trees that somehow remind me of npm - Slow compilation, it should reach at least the average speed of C comp

Just the kernel is Linux, but with the "Linux" that is meant here, it has basically nothing in common, be it e.g. in the userland or "the spirit". The Linux from "Linux Smartphones" e.g. fosters an open, user-f
