CPython can't do this because it's a change in semantics. You need explicit opt-in from the programmer. Anyway adding this optimisation to CPython would be like putting active aero on a dandy horse.

Not necessarily. Except for SpaceXAI's (haha) models, there's less risk of reality distortion in Western models. Probably doesn't affect his use case but you wouldn't really want to ask Kimi K3 for a history of China for

FPGAs aren't that difficult to program. Waves / timing diagrams are trivial to understand, they can just be very tedious to read. The different execution model to CPUs also isn't very hard to understand IMO. Hardware people

Hmm but when that argument was applied to phones, Android essentially got punished for being more open than Apple - you actually can have other app stores on Android, therefore Google could be held accountable for anti-competitive actions

If it's based on position mod 2, wouldn't inserting or deleting (or splitting/merging) words every now and then trivially defeat it? If it is based on position mod 2 then wouldn't inserting/deleting (or splitting an

Sure but there's no real way to use that in a portable way, at least not a way that maximises performance on every CPU you run it on. That's pretty much impossible at the moment.

1. No submodules. They suck. They don't work with worktrees. They're a pain to work with. 2. Cross-project changes become trivial instead of nightmarish. 3. Testing becomes tractable. Make a change in a submodule? Good luck testin

I think it's much cleverer about the order in which it tries to merge PRs, and how they are grouped. GitHub merge queues just do it in the order you click. Also I'm pretty sure it predates GitHub's implementation by a fair bi

Windows 11 was released before vibe coding was viable. And the shit show seems to be that they push ads and bloatware on people, not that it doesn't work reliably. Windows 11 IoT LTSC has been absolutely rock solid for me on both machi

At least with Windows it's always clear what to do. Mac can dump you in a finder window with two icons. Very unclear. You may have forgotten how unclear this can be for the first time.

Yeah I remember the first time I had to figure this out. Absolutely incomprehensible, depending on the app you get. A lot of open source apps don't bother with a custom background and just have the two icons. Even if there's an ar

Using MMIO is cheating and makes the results very boring. It would be much more interesting to know the results if you're only allowed to use main memory.
