So why is Facebook trying to trick their users? Simple: search results. Facebook is trying to dupe hundreds of millions of users they’ve spent years attracting into exposing their data for Facebook’s personal gain: pageviews. Yes, Facebook

This was an idea I had for a website I while back - basically an aggregator for grouping learning resources by topic then ranking them by skill level and quality. (So you could find the best "beginner's guides to x" or "expert tips for x" a

I set up this website yesterday. Obviously I'm quite pleased with the TechCrunch and HN coverage, though if anyone knows anyone from the target audience (or anyone from the UK startup community in general) please pass this link on to them.

You're right, it isn't new. I've read enough propoganda pieces telling me why I should get into open source; it would be interesting to read one telling me how .

The article looks like it might have some interesting content, but I don't fancy going through what appears to be a rather long and basic introduction to Computer Science. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether there's anything worth reading

I look at Google and think they have a strong academic culture. Elegant solutions to complex problems. We pride ourselves on strong hacker culture, building things quickly for lots of people. I wouldn't mind working at Facebook.

Try googling 'interactive fiction', which seems to be the modern term for old-school text-games. I used to play a few text games as a teenager (I'm 20 now, so this was only a few years ago) and there seemed to be a small but thriving commun
