I don't know the details but I recall that using linux as a bootloader was a potential threat the ChromeOS people wanted to block with some patches to the Linux kernel that tied it somehow to secure boot that the kernel maintainers (Li

I ll just chime in with something cool I heard once: Linux is very user friendly, it's just picky about its friends. P.S. Exclusive home linux user for 3 years and counting.

It is an uninformed choice if you want to run wayland. That doesn't mean there aren't other factors at play. For example back when I was shopping for a laptop 2yrs ago, AMD GPU's weren't even available on most vendors.

The problem is when the readme file (or other marketing speak) says open source, so people think it's something that gives them the rights that OSI approved licences give, and then the license file says something else. For example, Mon

Not exactly android but if you buy a phone supported by LineageOS then you have that functionality from privacy guard. You can set various app permissions to always ask as well as other things such as (dis)allow an app to start at boot. As

My phone uses android 8.1 API. I know about granular permissions but in practice this does not always work. For example the PlayMemories app from Sony - to use with Sony digital cameras - does not open at all (actually it opens to tell you

A friend from the university used that line on his parents as an excuse for the state of his room. Luckily for him they didn't know enough physics to call him out on it because his room was not really a closed system.

The main argument made, concerning the second law of thermodynamics can explain why we age but I am not sure it proves that aging is incurable. The second law of thermodynamics says that entropy increases in closed systems. A human is not

This is not possible because of quantum mechanics. You cannot know the exact location and speed of particles in your brain and therefore cannot build a deterministic model to predict its behavior.
