Works on our staging and production environments, but the feedback loop is too long for development. I mean, if it was literally the only way then we’d live with it, but ensuring everyone is using the same version is enough.

No, it won’t. The internet is just getting smaller from my perspective because there’s no way I’m handing over my identification and allowing every connection made to a server to be tracked back to me. It’s simply not on the cards, and I li

One person upgrading terraform can break the state format for backwards compatibility. We use direnv with asdf to ensure everyone is in the same version now.

I also wonder if being able to prove that an image or video isn’t AI generated would lend credence to it, while in reality there are other methods to produce falsified video.

I rode my motorcycle into a hole that almost swallowed the front tyre entirely in rural Australia. That hole had just been a slight depression that collected water the last time I rode through it, and there was no visual indication that it

I've used an ultrasonic sensor to detect the water level in a tank before, I don't think it would work as you describe. Also, the sensor didn't work in that context either as condensation kept forming on it.

Anything that decants below 78.4C is going to have methanol in it, I usually separate out the first 100ml or so that decants after 78.4C to play it safe. I've been doing it for about 20 years, no poisoning cases yet. Home distillation

The societal downside of providing yet another revenue stream for criminal organisations seems like it might be worth taking into consideration.

We’d just end up in the same situation as Australia - where up to one third of all cigarettes consumed are purchased on the black market.

Honestly, I look around the world and don’t see much, if any, practical difference. The US has had two presidents that were direct relatives, I can’t believe that’s by pure chance or some kind of genetic skill at being president.

I don't see how it's fundamentally any different to mailing someone harassing messages or distressing objects. Sure, in this context the person who mails the item is the one instigating the harassment but it's the postal netw

Personally, I’ve got fatigue at the phrase “AI slop”. It’s used as a catch all to dismiss the content due to the source, regardless of the quality or suitability when taken in context. Just like everything else these days the responses skew

If I did, I likely wouldn't have access to the source code and wouldn't be able to verify the degree of AI input. So, I ask again - how do you know that the service you're paying for is all of those things?

How do you/I know that? I implemented OpenTelemetry in a project of mine recently and was shocked to see the number of AI authored commits in the git repository.
