Why 20% VAT? Different EU countries have different tax brackets, so OP might not have had 20%.

Gaming is a bigger market than Movies / Music (in terms of $$). https://mediacat.uk/dentsu-gaming-is-bigger-than-music-and-m... I'd say it'll become more and more relevant to enact such changes. Unlike in the

As a European living in Canada, Canadian banking is already lagging behind on the EU banking I had. Paying online with Debit Cards is possible (at least in Belgium), alongside 2FA, not just entering 3 digits on the back of a card. And when

Yeah to me, these are just educated guesses and thus whenever used the tool needs that disclaimer. That said - a lot of (ancient) history is educated guesses based on partial information. Even when we have a lot of writing available, like C

Serious question - why do credit card companies care? What harm does it do to them if people buy adult oriented games?

Maybe, after thinking for a really long time, GPT-5 said "42". The answer might have been so shocking to Altman that now he'll have to build GPT-6. But more seriously - it's a ridiculous statement to think you understand

I use Gemini at work, and ChatGPT for everything else 'personal'. Also from my non-tech friends, I usually hear them talk about ChatGPT and not Gemini or other models. I think, even if Gemini outperforms ChatGPT, there's defi

Can't say this is too surprising, given Musks' behaviour over the past months. The association with Tesla as a product is less desirable as a result. And I guess in the US, his initial alignment with Trump didn't sit well wit

I didn’t think it was an “attack”, but merely an observation and a question. But I can see how it can read as an “attack”, I’ll update the comment. Thanks for calling it out!

Agreed, however, people with a good education _usually_ learn think intelligently about a variety of problems. By which I mean, they understand how to fact check sources, how to think critically about information presented to them, and how

Slows careers, but I guess "what's the point" of rushing through your career? You'll likely earn more money, at increased levels of stress, and while giving up on other things life has to offer. I kind of resonated with

Totally fair point, the first one I played was GTA III in the early 2000s, and I definitely remember some of these conversations. Similar to how DOOM and Mortal Kombat had a lot of controversy, but like you, I had assumed that this was most

Man, having “GTA 5” and “No Mercy” as targets in the same conversation is strange. GTA5 is IMO really mild for a game, while I do think No Mercy probably crossed the line. But I haven’t played a GTA game in a decade so maybe I’m misremember

Interesting perspective. Although the “death” can happen in various ways - humane or not humane. But ultimately I can get behind the idea that the immediate death is the better outcome in the big picture..

Yeah, I hear you. Vibe coding is good for a POC style thing as long as you can (somewhat) ignore architecture. For any real-world application that is even slightly more complex than these demos it will start to fail. At least that has been

Also my first thought.. and my second thought - apple has worked on this for years and while the experience is “good enough” across devices it’s not “great”. So that gives me little hope for Google doing a better job, given Android (seems)

Serious question - why? I know of the author but don’t see a reason to value his opinion on this topic more or less because of this. (Attaching too much value to the person instead of the argument is more of an ‘argument from authority’)

During a period of depression it was insanely hard to focus on work because I would spend literal hours ruminating on the same things. And even while working the negative thoughts would never be far away. So I can easily believe that this c

Assuming storage cost is not a huge concern, I’m a big fan of soft deletes everywhere. Also leaves an easy “audit trail” to see who tried to delete something. Of course - there are exceptions (gdpr deletion rules etc)

Similar to other commenters I disagree. You can definitely read without parsing and just “move on”. Or accept a superficial understanding and fail to see the deeper point. Philosophy might be a good domain to see this happen with - read the
