I don't think this is entirely accurate. If you look at this: https://www.media.mit.edu/publications/your-brain-on-chatgpt... , it shows that search engines do engage your brain _more_ than LLM usage. So you'l

I remember back when I was in secondary school, something commonly heard was "Don't just trust wikipedia, check it's resources, because it's crowdsourced and can be wrong". Now, almost 2 decades later, I rarely hear

This is potentially not going to be the advise you want to hear. As I got older, I noticed eye strain more and more, up to the point that I also eliminated screen time after work for some time. There are things that help - regular breaks, b

I am in a similar boat as you. I go bouldering twice a week for about 2h per session, I swim once a week for 45 minutes, and I walk an hour each day during my commute. But I would be interested to know how much this contributes to keeping m

I somehow forgot about this! But yes matching subtitle timings with video playback is a distinct “VLC thing” that I remember doing in the early 2000s

I’m one of those who hate it. I’m trilingual, but when watching something in any foreign language I just want to read subtitles instead of “dubs”. It is of course worse when it tries to do so on a language I already speak.

It makes sense to me, as the article also points out, being more optimistic might indicate lower levels of stress. And (prolonged) stress has been known for a long time to be detrimental to health.

Why? The numbers don’t make sense for the expected revenue.. they are significantly disconnected. And I have yet to see a “killer app” that can be monetized.

And so the bubble grows. I'd be happy if the industry/stock market proves me wrong, but I can't see this ending any other way than with a major crash that makes the dot-com boom seem like a minor blimp.

I don't think that's super surprising though. Nvidia has deals with OpenAI as well, so not using Trainium might have as much to do with OpenAI keeping Nvidia happy, as with Trainium not being on-par.

My partner is Chinese and so we get Chinese (and bread-like products from other Asian countries) quite often. In my opinion, it’s tasty but also not quite what I would expect bread to be like, mainly because it’s so soft. It is a running jo

Yeah, I was like that. It’s been almost 5 years so complaining is to a minimum, I got used to a lot of the food, but bread is one of those “staple foods” to me that still has me complaining every now and then haha

Honest question.. where? Most bread seems to be high in additives and promoted as a “healthy food”, like additional vitamines etc. And even when buying natural bread without these added “benefits”, it often has high levels of sodium (up to

Maybe the “go buy a bag of chips” is a way to force the walk to happen. I tend to do the same though, walk away for a bit and then return to the problem. Sometimes longer breaks are needed though so I might pivot to a different problem for
