Can’t upset the dear leader! Yeah, it was a notable absence and definitely intentional.

I don’t think it’s different. Recoverable == Reversible to an extend. Unless you take reversible in the strictest sense of “undo” it’s different. But you can’t “undo” a leadership decision, all you can do is later correct it and recover. So

Often framed as “one vs two-way doo decisions” at Amazon. Video of Bezos talking about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxsdOQa_QkM . IMO it’s a useful decision making strategy at times, mostly to not overthink the easi

This month I read "Carthage Must Be Destroyed" ( https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10133950-carthage-must-b... ), which dives deep into Hannibal's war against Rome (and the other punic wars). I high

It is incredibly relevant. If murder is prevented by having people play violent games and live out their fantasy there, isn’t that a good thing? I’m not convinced that it would be, but it’s an interesting hypothesis.

It still restricts access to literature. It is still a ban, and it is a limit of freedom to explore literature. But I agree with you, different scale of a similar problem.

Literature should be able to explore tough topics and spark discussion. There are numerous interpretations of reading a book.. for example, if in the book it is written that a 10 year old had sex with a 30 year old, that could be the fantas

Although we do have many more people now working on these problems than any time in the past. That said, science progresses one dead scientist at the time so might still take generations for a new golden era.

But apart from side projects these true new setups happen rarely. When working at a company you probably work on an already established codebase with known patterns. So what you say is true about boilerplate reduction, but that’s not a huge

To be honest it kinda sounds like a benefit for my use-case. I don’t engage with adult content on there and use it for one server with friends. And this will reduce spam from random accounts. Will see if it remains usable without uploading

Yes, but more likely insects as first small “animals”. Hunting animals takes more effort than eating fruits etc. I know it’s all vague delineation of where our species really started, and at which point you would no longer consider it the h

Our species started out predominantly eating fruits, vegetables, nuts,.. As hunter gatherers, meat eating came later and initially was still not a dominant source of nutrition. So yes, you eventually evolved for this, but it wasn’t the domi

Post had nothing to do with Haskell so the title is a bit misleading. But rest of article is good, and I actually think that Agentic/AI coding will probably evolve in this way. The current tools are the infancy of AI assisted coding. I

They forgot the “don’t be evil” era ended a long time ago. I applaud the initiative but it’s naive to think this’ll change anything. And when push comes to shove these people wont quit their comfy job in this economic climate.
