Every low-code tool I've tried becomes a pain compared to regular code. Zero or minimal VCS support (no, generated xml dumps or zip files don't count). Eventually they become complicated enough that non programmers can't use

Haven't used conduit in a while but Dendrite (written in Go) has most features that you would need. Well conduit does too but last time I checked them out they were switching databases again.

You mean something like wlroots ? Sway made it initially but others are using it too. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wlroots/wlroots

Youtube wouldve never grown to that size without Googe's money. It wouldve inevitably shut down or made huge changes to their model. Gmail, yes it would be huge without google but its only so bug because google forced it down everyone

Hyper conforms to HTTP but a bit too much. Cloudflare has to proxy users who may send invalid HTTP like status code 666 or something.

But the thing is I want my stuff to stay up long after I die. Kind of like my gravestone on the internet where I can choose what to put. I dont care if it eventually gets lost amongst the huge amount of content but I still want my stuff to

I think the reason something like this doesn't exist for Linux is that most Linux users prefer to use a more powerful language to create their own scripts instead.

How does Real-ESRGAN used here compare to waifu2x ? I've had great success using waifu2x, especially for blurry artwork.

If you have the source code for both you should ideally use something like GRPC or another way to communicate. Or maybe cgo if you want to wet your hands into that. The approach in this blog works with compiled binaries.

Ironic that Linkedin hates people who scrape their site which is nothing but user generated content yet they do the same.

Or maybe keep things the way they are.If you really need performance python is not the language you should be looking for. Instead of breaking decades of code, maybe use a language like Go or Rust for performance instead.

Plasma consumes almost the same amount of resources as XFCE. However you tradeoff stability for shiny new features.

I dont use this for general notetaking or anything, but Xournal++ is excellent for editing PDFs. I mean its not exactly a PDF editor but you can use it to add stuff to your PDF like textboxes, drawings, images, etc.

By advanced I meant something that has more features. No Wiki has everything but TiddlyWiki is more oriented towards personal use than group use. I was referring to more collaboration features, API access etc.

Tiddlywiki is great but if youre looking for something more advanced then you might want to look at DokuWiki (very plugin centric) or Bookstack, my favourite these days which is a batteries included type of wiki.

They are completely free and you don't have to pay for every upgrade. They're open source, just get the builds from f-droid instead of the paid play store builds. You can still pay to support the developer.
