Even if it does go away, youre not loosing anything. Its functionality can be replicated with a USD 5 VPS using Slack's nebula (not wireguard based) or any wireguard based tool like headscale, innernet, netmaker or plain old wireguard.

Why not ? Go binaries don't require a seperate vm/runtime. Theyre faster in some cases and Go has overall simpler to read code than Java. There is room enough for both languages.

I doubt this will happen, even if they do issue a mandate. Indian government computers are still running windows 7 or so and its hard to get them to switch to Linux. What happens when theyre forced to run Linux and a new architecture ? All

Infrastructure as code can work on any cloud provider including smaller ones like Digital Ocean, Linode, OVH, Hetzner, etc which are mentioned in the article. A lot of the things you said apply just as much to them as to AWS. In my opinion

Nextcloud is too slow and bloaty. I'm using https://filebrowser.org/ You can run it on a VPS, NAS or homeserver. If you want something managed, you can pay Hetzner for managed nextcloud.
