Nope, to access play services you have to add the powered by android logo and preinstall a minimum set of required apps (including the google search app), but afaik nothing saying google has to be the default search engine.

In fact the Android monopoly is slightly better because you can choose to avoid using Google services and use the open source version of Android instead.

I'm still on unpaid tenancy and oracle docs say that reclaim servers which are under or overutilized. I use my oracle free servers (and one paid vps on hetzner) as automatic cloud fallbacks if my homelab is inaccessible over the intern

For desktop integration, install flatseal and pass ~/.themes and other desktop directories to the flatpak app. It doesn't happen by default cause sandboxing. Command line software does show up in CLI, just not by its short name. Y
