One point could well be to see how your setup handles extreme overload? I guess different OSes and server software would handle it very differently, so using HN to trigger a huge overload would be a smart way to get some science done along

If you have a single-pass compiler (for speed) then it will not know on pass #2 that the old value is to be used for something or not and can drop it. In a single-pass run, you must generate code to keep the previous value in case the line

There is a writeup in PDF here https://csdb.dk/release/?id=198357 about what actually happens on all the unimplemented instructions that still "run" parts of the CPU, some with decent results, and some with l

According to the LICENCE.rtlwifi_firmware.txt [1], the rules permitted adding their non-open-source firmware into open source operating systems but such an addition (ironically) makes that open source operating system not entirely open sour

Then again, at the height of the times, the registries handed out one /8 per month more or less, so whatever small pockets of (seemingly) unused /8s, or /10s you can find, gives you weeks to delay your ipv6 transition.

Obviously it hurts if your project gets bad rep from an old unmaintained fork. If "everyone knows $your_project is broken, don't use it" it will spill back on you. Somewhat like when powershell on windows had aliases for wget
