Money is a commodity, but you don't want it to behave like one. That's where fiat currency comes in. Inflation, or at least the threat of it, prevents hoarding. It has a realistic and useful effect on value in that it makes money

That's funny, whenever I hear far out claims made by journalists mentioned to scientists, they always dimiss them. But you're saying there are scientists claiming GW causes these naturally occurring phenomenon. The problem with GW

Be careful giving tax advice here, because you're partly wrong and missing key details. For instance, I'm married and I can make $120k (with no other income) of long term capital gains and pay $2.5k in federal taxes on it. The cap

>I wouldn't buy food from Amazon Again, YOU wouldn't. You're projecting. The argument is that a poor person (in the US) can't buy unprocessed food because they don't have a grocery store nearby.

I've cooked a week's worth of rice in about 30 minutes and you can cook a potato in the microwave in 5 minutes. Again, we're right back to where we started with elitist mentality. You think poor people care about brown rice V

>Meanwhile fast food is cheap That's just not true. It's cheap to you. It's actually terribly expensive compared to a bag of rice and potatoes, which you can buy in bulk and cook easily with a hot plate and a pot. This i

Impossibly vague statement. What was her salary before? What is it now? How long did the shift take place? Where is she in her career? You get the idea. Far too many variables to just say the 3x increase was just because she dropped dot

We must have read different articles. This article has no climate scientist mentioned. These are business people who are talking more about legislative risk and consumer trends than loss from GW related events.

I parrot the parent post's question and nobody likes it. If you think GW is a man made disaster, then you need no qualifications. If you don't, there aren't enough qualifications on earth for your opinion to matter.

I think you mean freedom of the press? Libel is still illegal. Frankly, the problem with the press in the US is that it's lost all credibility and is mostly filled with activist instead of journalists.

We are way better off. Just live somewhere else. You can rent a nice house in Ohio for less than half that much [1]. Progress doesn't subvert the laws of supply and demand. [1] https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/apa&#x

I think you're talking about the ability of the federal reserve to print money and buy US treasures, thus increasing the money supply. The thing is, US currency is global commodity and as such is subject to supply and demand forces. Th

To add on "who should decide who gets money" ... Let's not forget the equity capital markets and private lending institutions. Banks don't have a strangle hold on providing capital.
