I understand, sorry but I was thinking of all the frequent comparisons made with the bay area on this website. But true enough Scandinavia is at the top of european salaries, at least Stockholm. Not down south where I live in Malmö, because

It's pretty low for a software engineer, this is coming from a Swede. I know people inside Ubisoft and they have notoriously low salaries. I work in telco and we pay our developers more than Ubisoft does.

You can't compare Portugal to Seattle or Portland. First of all it's a country, but more importantly they have free public health care and safety nets for homeless and jobless people. Imho the number one driving factor of the US o

I'm in love with some of the old tech, but I would not want to go back to those days. I'm more in love with the advantages of new tech. The only thing reminding me of the old days is my Miyoo mini+ where I play old SNES and GBA ga

I'd prefer markdown actually. This should not be complicated, it should be as simple as making a theme for a static site generator that supports markdown. I already found one alternative through quick googling. https://theme

I was just thinking a few weeks ago that there is a risk LLMs will bring on a wave of big computer builds similar to crypto mining. For storing all the data, and for calculating all the queries from their users. I'm not familiar with w

Why would it work better when reddit are blocking IPs? It's an arms race you can't win in the long run.

libreddit is suffering the same problem. Some instances are still working but they're probably switching outgoing IPs often to evade the ban hammer. As others have noted, I think this is part of a larger trend. All websites have realiz
