So a Putin controlled government agency on a website under the control of the same agency and during a war. Yes, obviously the most reliable source of information. Dream on.

I like that approach where you just randomly get the top person. Like anyone could just email Steve Jobs at Apple and sometimes he would personally answer when he felt like it.

Ah yes, a nice reliable Russian link. That's not what Facebook said in their statement: "Sir Nick Clegg, vice-president of global affairs at Meta, said Russian authorities "ordered us to stop the independent fact-checking and

Which websites are these exactly? And who is this "west"? Which country has blocked what? Russia objected to Facebook fact checking and labelling (not removing) Russian state media posts. The Russian regulator (Roskomnadzor) has s

A slight nuance is if Russia has only one customer for it's gas and oil, then China may feel they do not have to pay the going market rate. It depends if Xi thinks he is a charity for Putin.

The comment I was replying to presents a false choice. It's suggesting that people are sleeping on the streets due to the provision of quality accommodation and if only quality of housing could be made worse people would not be sleepin

Having a bathroom shared between many strangers is exceptionally annoying. You have to queue for your turn to use the shower. If someone spends ages in their, well bad luck you're going to be late for work or no shower for you. Many pe

I think the MiSTer is a good suggestion as it's flexible. Inevitably one day you will decide you want to try something other than an Amiga and then you've got all the cores available for other systems to easily install. The suppor

I think you're right. I'd like to see an analysis of the effectiveness of personalised advertising based on tracking versus ads based purely on local context. The latter being if you're on a web page about birds then you get

Not easily as their terms are private, but you can tell it's not a huge slice. Fairly well every phone and all manner of other devices uses an ARM but I'm googling their royalty revenues at $1.3 billion dollars annually. So that&#

RISC-V is going to bite at the low end embedded market where pennies matter, but it'll be a while before it eats into ARM at the mid to high end. ARM is offering non-discriminatory licenses at unit prices that are largely an irrelevanc

On YouTube they're now demanding a credit card number to verify I'm over 18. I guess someone said a swear word in the video I'm trying to watch. Yeah not giving them my credit card number.

This isn't the first article about "traders" I've seen where it's questionable as to the detail of what they're actually doing. He "invested $50 and within 3 months it was worth $1 million". It should

I would be amazed if they stopped offering regular Gmail for free because it hooks users into the Google platform and encourages them to create an account. What I can see though is they might start charging for services that currently come

They used to have a free tier. They stopped offering it about 10 years ago but existing users were grandfathered in and it continued to be free. But no more.

Just to point out it's index trackers you're recommending. The "ETF" part is just a method of purchasing an index tracker. There are other ways. ETFs are also available that invest in all kinds of garbage and are not nec

I agree somewhat. About 80% or more of their business is still ads. It only takes some major advertising segment to have a downturn or otherwise decide that digital ads are useless and they'll see a hue dip in revenue. Although I'

The specific machine type is moot and just clickbait. The way I heard this one, the crux was the machine he used was not network connected. Madoff needed to be able to calculate customer account positions after he already knew the share pri
