My thoughts on the points raised in the article: * Differences in keystroke logging - this has nothing to do with the switch and everything to do with the design of the traces on the board, the controller, and the interface to the computer.

AFAIK they just resell commodity generic laptops under their brand and they do some System76 specific things to them such as open source bios firmwares. I may be wrong but when I looked into them years back thats what I uncovered. I think

I'm in the same boat where my eyes were not as good as they used to be and I often run a scaled display rather than 1:1. I'm using Ubuntu 18.x LTS and it comes out of the box with gnome but I primarily use i3wm. I was able to sc

I don't know either but I think you're right anyway - the device closest to production of sound should probably have these physical controls. I agree with the article and hate having to find or fumble with a software based mute&#

I guess for HN OP should have refactored the title to be "Actually Portable Executable" but I thought the whole point of the title was that it's something we can interpret that has been "written in something else" w

This is a pretty terrible idea. I've run a wiki at work and a lot of the information is outdated but a lot of it is also still really relevant even given that the page has not been touched in 3-5 years. Somewhat wiki related but on th

I was told to eat a serving of almond butter and some almonds as my lunch. Maybe flag some things as 'snacks' and try and pair a meal item like a sandwich with a snack item like 8 almonds.

In my experience I don't see them as mutually exclusive. Good comments in code should still be in place. In my opinion the git history should not explain what the code does necessarily but instead the nature of the changes that were

As a desktop user of Firefox on Linux I found the two demos with the modified scrollbars subjectively worse than default. As a user I use the scroll bar to (1) identify if a section can be scrolled, (2) identify where in the section I am w

I wish pi-hole was just a tiny bit more polished. I found it takes a lot of work (and knowledge of linux networking) to get up and running properly and stable.
