I added +-hubpages to my keyword search in Firefox. I should probably look into an extension instead, but it works well enough. I like the idea of Google getting lots of searches for <random query> -hubpages

That's some pretty bad math. That analysis uses the average characters/message for SMS, but uses the maximum characters/letter for postal delivery. The average is probably less than a page. It also double-counts SMS costs (for sending and f

USB drives are also good for storing changing files that need to be moved between work and home. You can burn more files to a CD but that takes more than 30 seconds,

Funny, I wish Firefox's awesome bar let me press enter to go to the first result without pressing down first.

I buy games on Steam because downloading and installing is a double-click. There are a lot of (admittedly easy) steps when you pirate things, like mounting the ISO and browsing to the crack folder, and re-mounting every time you want to pla

One thing that bugs me is that the Y logo is still on an orange background. It makes sense, but it doesn't work on the red bar. It stands out too much.

For those of us that can't / don't want to install IE9, can you describe the differences?

Any conversation with a large company not well known for service will probably go like this. The lower-tier support technicians have a script they follow, and if you stick to it you will A) actually get support, and B) not make some support

This is also the first YouTube video I've seen, embedded or not, where the position slider doesn't work. I also can't click to view it on YouTube.

I browse the web a lot on my desktop, and I find myself missing my laptop's two-fingers-and-swipe-down scroll.

This man is angry at Google - angry enough to literally kill Google if Google were a person - because of an omitted button.

Yes, we can blame Facebook for not allowing export of emails. Several people on here have said that Facebook has learned their name (and some other information) without them having an account. If Facebook does X using other companies' data,

For reference, Perl 5's version: http://99-bottles-of-beer.net/language-perl-737.html My personal favorite is the Malbolge version because it made me read up on Malbolge :) http://99-bottles-of-beer.net/language-malbolge-995.html

Woot sells these for around $20 sometimes. The comments are usually a mixed bag, with some people saying it's really good, and other citing problems such as size, durability, etc. There are a lot of comments here: http://www.woot.com/Forum

I realize I'm a bit late to this thread, but I've enjoyed reading others' stories and felt I should share. I tend to abuse HTML browser-based games by using bookmarklets. I played Parallel Universe 2 for awhile, and when I got bored I set u

You can play single-player as long as you've logged in at least once ever. I think it's a very reasonable security scheme, and it allowed me to play for a month or two while I didn't have internet access at home.

I use Win+D to open things on the desktop without affecting my current window setup. Win+D, double-click, Win+D quickly before the program opens. I do try to keep my desktop clean though, I mostly use this on others' machines.

Add IllegalFile and RandomData.txt to a password protected rar. The hash is essentially random, you can't check the contents, and the illegal file is easily retrievable if the downloader knows the password.

I first read this title as Catastrophic Design Differences, which isn't far off. The author is biased in favor of Google Maps (it's a bit hard to differentiate between Google's 1st and 2nd level city markers), but I like the comparison.
