Yeah, like... haven't robots been capable of outrunning us for quite some time? Doesn't even seem like much of an accomplishment, unless I'm missing something

Maybe this is unique to people who grow up in cities? Where I live, kids today are still growing up learning practical skills. When something breaks in my house, I fix it. If it's something I've never dealt with before, I learn

Yep, if AI is killing the self-help book market, all I can say is good riddance.

I'm well aware of all this, but I think you folks might be underestimating the hubris of gigantic corporations and how little my input as one IT guy at one little factory in one little part of the world means to the people who actually

I'm in the IT department. Unfortunately massive global corporations routinely make extremely misguided decisions and don't particularly give a shit about what people like me have to say on the matter.

Hadn't even considered that... not to mention the customers who have already been charged for their orders who might not receive their food. Sounds pretty disastrous

The "ad" as described in my comment isn't really an ad in the typical sense, it's baked into the website. But the real reason is, I'm on my work computer and unable to install browser extensions.

Kinda sucks even more than your average service having an outage. Plenty of people barely scrape by doing DoorDash, I bet even an hour or two of downtime can make quite the difference for them.

I Fired theartofdoingstuff.com for extremely obnoxious ads - particularly the "Would you like to save this stuff?" one that greys out the rest of the article you're trying to read to... checks notes ... ask if you want the a

Don't give AI the ability to unilaterally remove/reject comments. Allow AI to flag comments as potentially harmful, and then have a human review whether or not they should be removed. AI shouldn't have the agency to actuall

Right, but if absolutely everybody you know is on WhatsApp and have no desire to move to Signal or Telegram, chances are you're going to end up using WhatsApp regardless of your feelings toward Meta.

This looks really awesome! It's pretty hard to wrap my head around the price though. $500 USD (so $700(!!!) Canadian) is pretty bizarre for what it is.
