My legal first name is Xitij. Everyone knows me as Ritesh. It does not appear on any of my identification. I've dealt with this for 38 years.

Dammit. I just bought a Mazda and I have Connected Services. The app sucks. Also I was about to spend this weekend trying to figure out how to get it hooked into HomeKit so I could turn on climate controls while getting kids ready in the mo

Not that I’m aware of but to be honest, I doubt I’ll have that problem. 42km of EV-only range means that every so often, I’ll need the ICE. Plus, I have a heavy foot, so if I want to experience all 340 ponies, I gotta fire up the ICE. That

I recently took delivery of a Mazda CX-90 PHEV. My other car is a 2012 Acura TSX. I wasn’t ready to jump fully into EV simply because I wanted a larger family hauler that didn’t break the bank. My driving is limited to less than 15 km per d

My client is in the middle of migrating their Snowflake data to Databricks Unity Catalog. To this day, I still do not understand why they love Databricks so much. It just looks like a Jupyter notebook to me. I know, it has Spark. So? I’m tr

https://www.xitijpatel.com/ Writing about my journey to $1B in 10 years as an engineer. Hope to guide others on their own journey, documenting every success and failure. It’s ambitious, but if anyone can do it, it’s me.

I am really confused by this. Maybe I'm just a social recluse, but I definitely have a drink whenever I'm with friends or family. But those events are limited to once every 1-3 months. I have alcohol in the house. I'll occasi

In 2012, I joined a YC startup, which we sold to Instagram, and then stayed there for a year, left to start my own thing, joined YC with that, and have been doing my thing thanks to the YC network ever since. I owe my entire career to HN.

Our family really enjoyed Nordstrom stores, and were regulars at the Bazille restaurant in our location. Really sad to see this happen. I thought it was a fantastic place to shop that really showed what good retail could look like. I guess

Hah, I worked in Kullervo's lab in the early 2010s. It is, indeed, surreal, what you can do with MR-guided focused ultrasound.

About 4-5 months too late IMO, but smart move. Cash is king for the foreseeable future.

I love this article for giving me the idea of using AI to help with journaling. I love this comment because it's exactly how I felt too. All the more reason to get GPT-J running on my GPU.

Love seeing you back in the game Tracy. I'm currently knee-deep in the enterprise world, and trust me, the point about selling into these orgs is very true. My team just spent the last year moving our client off a Salesforce Lightning-

I've heard of these high dose Vitamin D regiments, and I have to ask, how and where are you getting such high doses? I take 2 tablets of 1000 IU per day, alongside a magnesium citrate tablet. What am I missing? You're not taking 3

Yesterday, I took my 4-year-old son to la Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace in Paris so he could see and walk through a 747 in real-life. This was after flying to Frankfurt on a 787, and seeing a 747 and A380 on the tarmac there. He s

I know it’s a lot to ask of the general populace, but self-reflection is key here. I’m smart and confident. But I know that I would be a terrible person to give a $465m loan to. Money is our economy’s way of rewarding those of us with outsi
