That’s a good point. Thanks!

That’s splitting hairs. Most people refer to running locally as in running model on your hardware rather than the providing company.

I also find it useful for group texts when a long conversation happens. Easier to get an idea when I don’t care to join in. Another use case for me is image descriptions, particularly in carplay.

This is what was taught to me in drivers ed as a driver. Make eye contact with the pedestrian. So I do the same as a pedestrian as well.

Depends on the place I'd think. I almost exclusively use Apple Maps except for when I need data about a business. On the other hand Google has also sent me to wrong places a few times, sent me to a closed road etc.

Seems like they’re starting to do this as mesh is becoming common. In my apartment, my ISP has a permanently installed router without wifi. Then they just send you a wifi router or mesh devices depending on your requirements.

I'd assume the same way they collected that much cash. Illegal deals. You want to bribe someone? use cash. Buy something of high value, put low value on the books but pay the rest in tax free cash? This is pure guess work

You can always disable screen time permission and uninstall it. Also apps must get a special permission for using this API from Apple, if that’s any consolation.

I don’t know too much about this but I’m curious if what I saw recently on safari is similar? When visiting related Microsoft websites, I got a pop up asking permission to share the cookie for login. I was up to me to approve or reject that

Wouldn’t human can be legally ticketed for stopping in the bike lane?

by HnUser12 2y ago
Yeah. For example, IIRC Disney plus doesn’t show anything there. You can also make Tv Plus app show the “up next” instead of “what you watch” in that space.

Indian government does. Fortunately not face scans. But pictures, retinal scan and fingerprints.

I assume they do this to make sure the number hasn't changed/being answered by someone else?

You can actually see the domains being contacted in the app privacy report. I’m not sure if it includes the OS level connections, but it includes for all apps, including Apple apps.

I recently learned that there’s a subreddit dedicated to this. r/pencilStabbers.

On iOS shortcuts you don’t need user interaction if you disable “show when run” on the shortcut.

I don't know the details of this service for Nissan but I'm curious. Since usually app based remote start is subscription based, would stopping this service still be eligible for a lawsuit? Assuming the key based remote start stil

Depends on your car. Some cars only activate these systems after a certain speed. Even then you can still overpower the system.
