Google’s core business is ad targeting, the cornerstone of which is personal data used to target better. While it is (hopefully) untrue that they literally sell your data, they do profit from it indirectly (and massively, it’s 85% of reven

I use the Notes app in iOS/OSX which has been getting insanely powerful in the last few years. Not only does it sync notes across devices, but indexes them for spotlight search anywhere. It also transcribes handwritten notes and makes

One solution is to set up two separate wireless networks with separate VLANs where one uses the pihole for DNS and the other does not. Clients can temporarily switch to the ads network at will. It might not be possible unless you have a dec

A big part of the savings would come from reducing the operational overhead of managing instances. Serverless is turnkey and doesn’t require any ops personnel, or skills. Even k8s requires a lot of TLC to get proper scaling and do upgrades

Is it? Frankly, “syncing” your phone to a computer isn’t really a thing anymore with the advent of cloud storage and streaming music. USB-A is probably cheaper and more universal as a wall-charging, or car charging standard right now.

Lately I prefer to shop at Best Buy over amazon. I have a couple nearby, so picking something up at the store is more amenable to impulse and instant gratification. It’s also fun to take a lap around a play with some stuff. Besides that, th
