Curious how somehow if ten developers work together they are a nice community that needs to be supported, but the moment they sign a few documents and become a company they immeditely become a soulless entity whose exploitation, ridicule an

I confused you with the person I originally replied to. Still, my solution still allows to have a passwordless bootloader if you choose to not set a password, so I really don't get what would be wrong with it.

I'm not understanding your argument. You say that unlocking a bootloader is dangerous, so what's your solution? You can't have non-unlockable bootloaders because that would mean a loss of hardware functionality, which you jus

No, the password is only to lock-unlock the bootloader. If you forget it you won't be able to install a new ROM but you will still be capable of upading your OS or factory resetting it

The Galaxy S3 could do everything back in the day, it was and still is plenty powerful. Banking apps, messaging apps, social networks, web browsing, etc. Of course it won't do fancy real-tike Snapchat filters and AI image recognition,

This could be easily solved if manufacturers simply allowed for using a unique password to unlock the bootloader. Want to install a custom ROM? Simple! Put the phone in recovery mode, insert the unique manufacturer-provided password, unlock

Apple pays in order to distribute the codec on their devices, and since hackintoshes are very uncommon and iOS can't be installed anywhere else they aren't worried about those rare cases. Also Linux has nothing to do with video co

Could it be that Microsoft is selling the codec extension because MPEG-LA would otherwise ask them to pay a fee for every single Windows installation with the codec included? and since Windows is very often pirated Microsoft would be payin

It's the first mover's advantage. When someone reports you everyone becomes suspicious and if you try to use the same tactics you get scoffed at and ignored.

Multiplication outside of positive integers is not "repeated addition". It took us thousands of years to properly define real numbers. High school students can live without a perfect explanation, or we can just teach limits before

Irrational numbers are limits of sequences of rational numbers. Multiplying two real numbers is simply taking the limit of a sequence of multiplications between rational numbers that converge to the two real ones.

I mean, this is true for every operation once you extend it to a new domain. What is exponentiation? is 5^6 multiplying 5 for 6 times? sure, but how about 5^(-6)? what's up with that? and 5^(1/2)? and don't get me started on
