Sounds as if they plan to use agisoft photoscan to process all satellite images they can find.

I thought the uber vc-backed business plan was to expoilt their drivers until they can be replaced by homegrown autonomous vehicles- if this is true they have a huge engineering problem to solve.

If you take a closer look at the complete lifecycle of BEVs they turn out to be not as eco friendly yet- especially those with bigger batteries. hydrogen mighty be reasonable for a while but eventually bevs will come down in price and fcevs

first, there should be a teacher to personally tell you if you messed up and why. second there is a time and place for these kind of things. imagine the teacher decides to check tests at night. do you really want your kids to constantly che

quite shocked those kids receive their grades by an app. here in germany we have this discussion on whether to have computers/phones in classrooms. i’d say no to all of that- except for computer programming classes.

This is true. Books on programming are rarely done so well.

There is a big difference between management and leadership. Are we really talking leadership here or is this about climbing the company ladder?

No. „underground“ is the antithesis to „mainstream“. Both are words and part of english language. It is not all down to individual opinion.

Agree. But that should not stop us from beeing upset. We must of course focus on the law an closing loopholes. However, this discussion is much broader. A year ago i read a piece by tim cook lamenting about the eu demanding tax. He adressed

They are not as separate. A deferred shading pipeline would make little sense if it was operating purely in LDR. Tonemapping in foward shading can be done but makes a lot more sense to do as a post step. If you ask a photographer about tone

Please note there is s difference between deferred rendering and deferred shading. The latter is here to stay and all major game engines have made it their main technique. (vr excluded)

    by HellDunkel 9y ago

True, but deferred shading takes up extra performance, in most cases, thats why it is less used on lower end systems or vr where you need 120fps. i did not claim hdr or deferred was impossible on nintendo switch.

    by HellDunkel 9y ago

I dont know what kind of HDR you refer to. My point was that for realistc rendering or physically based, whatever you might call it, a linear workflow (light calc in linearized space) is crucial. It is very important for the artist too if

The author makes a point of Nintendo opting out of HDR but does not realize thats due to hardware limits not allowing deferred shading. The HDR techniques he does not like are all made possible by the use of deferred shading. These techniqu

Weak AI will accelerate inequality in the world. To what degree and how quickly remains to be seen. I think we should be really careful and think of ways to slow down this force. Shame on me for bringing up such matter on a venture capital

I feel the exact same way. Before 2015 i did not even use a smart phone and i think this helped me a lot. Also as a father i think we should fight distraction rather than give in to it. Rather than preach multi tasking we should cultivate t
