I found http://criticue.com on HN a few weeks ago and I've received some very good feedback from it.

I took over development of a fairly large Drupal site with Ubercart and multiple external API tie-ins. It took the original team nearly 2 years to develop it for a rather large client. Now I'm the only developer working on it making some

I've been running a website of my own for over 15 years and every job and client I've ever had stemmed from that site. This site got me my first job in college all the way until my latest client. I can't stress how important it is to buil

Interesting concept, but it's very poorly implemented. I'd like to remove a majority of the apps listed, but I cannot easily "Trust" the few that I'd like to keep. It requires my email address in order to proceed. For a service that is s

My wife was on a flight from Taipei to LAX when they called for a doctor. She didn't see whether or not a doctor responded, but there were no further calls or announcements after that. Later when she went to the bathroom she saw a body ba

I found this: http://jueseph.com/2010/06/opticrop-content-aware-cropping-w... Seems to be a similar solution using PHP and ImageMagick.

This looks like a nice, simple solution. Now I wonder if there is a solution similar to this written in PHP.

If your app can be developed as a web app first that may be ideal. Building with a responsive design will allow it to work on both devices initially. Then you can watch your statistics to learn where is it more successful and build for th

While this might not be news to some it's new to me. I don't normally use macros, but I'll certainly keep this in mind if the need ever comes up.

This reminds me of the dispute between Microsoft and Netscape when Microsoft released IE. There is always the chance that the 800lb gorilla will copy you, API or not. I find it hard to believe that Facebook copied SnapChat because of the

That is a good idea. My thought was to make it disappear when you scroll up to provide a mechanism to suppress it. I would guess 99% of the time the user will not want it. But you do have a good idea.

People still look for periphery information at the bottom of the page. Until that habit changes I think we'll still need to keep it there.

"And now add the fact that MS seems to be launching MS Office on iOS soon." I think this really sums up the long term fate of Microsoft. This happened to Sega several years ago. They eventually gave up on the console business only to focus

Maybe you can leave that up to the site owner. You can give us a few options pertaining to what we'd like reviewed, ie: first impression, clarity of copy, design, concept. Then list these on the review page so the reviewer knows what to pa

I have been using this for several days and have received quite a few useful reviews. The main thing that bothers me is the emphasis on a single screenshot. I always open each site into a new window to test the responsive design and brows

I absolutely agree with this. I recently moved across the country to a city where there is very little tech work, but this move wasn't for work. I moved to support my local church, and not as a pastor or worker, but as another member. I c

I do agree with this article in that hybrid apps are a very viable option, but I feel a lot of what's said is fairly common knowledge.

That's me. We moved out to Virginia where the cost of living is much lower and the attitude is much more down to earth. I think the thing that most bothered me about California was the attitude. Lots of proud people there.

What I find most striking is that most European countries have a bigger alcohol problem than America. I might not have guessed that right away. I wonder if it's mainly due to the stronger Christian influence in America.
