Really mis-leading title. I was actually interested in what an article true a title like this had to say. I thought there might be a fun experiment I could perform at home to prove the point.

Short article, but voted up simply to voice my love for Vim. It took me a long time to finally get comfortable with Vim. I would load it up every few weeks, learn a couple of commands or things like using split windows and then get frustrat

Don't spend your time trying to touch as many people as possible (first circle). Make great products that make those that you do touch want to go and touch others (second circle).

Perhaps this could be a new business model. Build up a business and cash out by turning the story into a film. It'll be something if the film turns out to make more profit then FB itself (I'm assuming FB still isn't profitable).

What is it about CSS3 & HTML 5 that makes this impossible on "older" browsers? Maybe I'm missing the point, but I'm not really seeing anything that couldn't already be done cross most browsers?

No, and to me that's what makes Seth Godin's stuff so appealing. It's so obvious most of the time, yet it's stuff people time and time again fail to recognise and do themselves. He has one clear message which he drives through in all his bo

I don't know why and I can't explain it, but I felt really touched and inspired playing that. Being able to take "that leap" against all the in-game nay-sayers, actually felt as real as the day I left my job of 5 years to do it myself.

Let me summarise. If you exercise you'll feel hungrier and if you don't show some self-restraint, you'll probably eat more and either not lose anything or actually put on weight. As the saying goes "Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the g

Reading through your list of points, it sounds like you're trying to justify not just trying and seeing what's possible. There's no golden rule or answer to starting a business, but there are plenty of successful businesses that started a

I can't recommend "How To Get Rich" enough. Don't be fooled into thinking it's another get-rich-quick type book by it's title. This is perhaps the most down to earth and honest book about the subject I've ever read.

As a side note this is reason I've always believed building an business/app of any importance on-top of another site is just crazy. You're at their mercy and there's nothing you can ever do to stop them shutting you out.

I read this, spent most of the day struggling with Vim and then went back to Textmate defeated. I still can't understand why I should move to Vim/Emacs when I spend 99.99% of my time infront of a Mac.

Right, so non-Apple branded goods are cheaper then their counterparts. I don't see what the low price of a HP laptop has to do with Microsoft?
