You don’t read the contract, you pay the price. People just arbitrarily pulling in code from random people on the internet and expecting everything to be fine is hilarious. Your project, due the due diligence. To answer the hypothetical, th

I see zero difference. There is an explicit mention that bad things will happen if you subvert the license system. A license is $20, OP is just too lazy to read the terms of code he blindly incorporates. Op called 2% stealing, 30% is for ba

Ha, caveat emptor. Oh, wait, OP isn’t even a buyer and paid nothing for the code and blindly built it into the app. No reading, no understanding, just copying. OG plug-in author has a problem with people abusing license key system, builds i

As a reminder, hate speech is not against the law in the United States [1]. However, it is against the law in plenty of other countries, and likely against the TOS of most sites. [1] https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/

A counterpoint to those suggesting thinkpads, specifically the pxx range. I have a p50 thinkpad -- It's a wonderful laptop, but as a linux machine, it's not great, yet. For one, I have a M2000 graphics card, which sometimes doesn&

Ending the data economy means ending inference. Most of the examples listed in the opening paragraph are not direct measurements, but mundane behavior that can associated with something interesting. I don’t think stopping inference is poss

If you feel that way about Java, I'd love to know how you feel about C. Fast, runs everywhere, tons of interoperability, fairly compact language, your choice of compiler, etc. Also, congrats on graduating from CU! Just graduated last s

I just spent a few minutes looking for data, expecting something like a stock chart. I can't find almost anything -- even total stream numbers for an album or song are difficult to find. If you have a good source, I'm very interes

Reviews are now so gamified as to be completely worthless. Most users don't have much experience, and the experience they do have with the item might be completely out of line with how it was intended to be used or operated. There&#x27

Look at the older Lenovo workstation laptops for an example of something similar. I have a P50 -- a 3840x2160 15" screen, 32GB of RAM, Xeon E3-1505M v5 @ 2.8GHz, and a removable battery. It also comes with space (easily accessible!) fo

I've used snap for setting up a Nextcloud server. It was honestly pretty easy, and it auto updates. I'm normally not a fan of autoupdates, but for a publicly accessible service, it is appreciated. However, I've never packaged

The comment is mostly about energy scales -- Getting into the actual conversion rate, system efficiency, amortization etc is beyond the scope of a comment, especially when it's still an area of very active research.

No one is giving you numbers for why this is wrong, so let me ballpark. Typical solar irradiance is 1000W/m^2. Mean sunshine hours where I live is 3000hrs/y. Assuming 100% efficiency, 100% solar irradiance, perfect angle etc for t

The MTBF for a security camera has got to be ~100,000 hours or more. If this drone makes it 1000 hours, color me impressed. Presumably the next product will be a gattling gun you can deploy on errant babysitters, package thieves, and the AT

I haven't seen an ad in so long that it's jarring to use someone else's phone or laptop; the best thing I can compare it to is clean vs dirty glasses. I highly recommend AdAway if you use Android.
