I question the value of CPUC wanting detailed historical operational data. It seems like an attempt by an outdated regulatory organization to shoehorn itself by flexing its authority, creating nothing but more bureaucratic inefficiency. W

I think IP + useragent + locale (which is sent with every HTTP request) is enough to pinpoint most users.

Google is reportedly paying 30% of ad revenue to the company behind Adblock Plus to get on the "acceptable ads" whitelist for Google search. I find this a despicable pracrice and encourage my friends to use another ad blocker. If

It's a footnote. I guess the author is going for a "stream of consciousness" around Apple watch pixels. (Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a positive contribution to the article)

The sysadmins need to change the DNS to point to a status page, perform forensic dumps of the servers, and perform incident response 101 ASAP. There's no excuse leaving an attacker controlled message up for hours.

Not at all. Just securely store a copy of all work keys on a non-networked, "cold storage" server and back it up for redundancy. Record keeping is preserved while you gain the full benefits of PGP.

To clarify, the issue isn't SPV mining - the issue is not validating your mined blocks with the latest version when submitting. Even if the pools were SPV mining, their invalid chains would only be 1 block deep as the core client will
