+1, I want to see the input, and all edits made. Also, there is no evidence that this was actually generated by GPT-3. It sounds weird, but people have faked weirder stuff and disseminated it on Hacker News to get some sort of virality

Social media is full of videos and images (instead of text) because that's what our dopamine receptors want. The reality is, if Facebook started showing less videos, more people would move to TikTok. I think, as a society, we should ac

Can you imagine the Department of Justice declaring Twitter to be no longer protected under section 230, after flagging Trump's tweets? This feels so, so wrong.

The web itself has transformed from a new frontier where people generally have good intentions, to a digital society undergoing active fraud, sabotage, and influence by commercial entities, governments, and wider society.

Reset it with a change to the Core prefix. It used to be Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, etc until the current past decade. Name it something like "Intel Smart Core i3" with the introduction of little.BIG architecture. If those live up t

There is about zero chance of bitcoin moving to proof of stake. Something so fundamental about its SHA256(SHA256())) PoW structure just isn't going to get changed, unless there's a vulnerability in SHA256.

As a potential customer, scalability is definitely top of mind. If you can't scale a tech demo, then I'm not left with a good impression with a CDN which is supposed to handle millions of requests per second. It's not like Do

Clever idea but as things like your position and camera angle are floats, there are virtually infinite gamestates.

Good design can dramatically reduce, if not eliminate, most human vulnerabilities. For example, phishing sites would be radically less effective if passwords are not a thing, and everyone logged in using hardware keys (e.g. Yubikeys) which

Apple should be officially supporting this project and turn it into an independent, but full-time gig. If the maintainers decline, Apple should hire someone to manage their own.

The contact importer should not be turning up deleted Facebook accounts, so it seems like Facebook was keeping data on you even after you deleted your account. If you are an EU resident, this can be a GDPR violation so you should follow up.

When the subject of your blog post is about your personal life experience, I think that opens you up for public examination. It's not like GP is going around critiquing random HN commentators, or even random public figures.

+1. I get to be aggressive and do a 100% stocks allocation. Heck, I can even do sensible (I'm talking 1.25x-1.33x) levels of leverage. I get to invest in crypto. I get to borrow a fairly expensive mortgage. Etc. Let's see where I

You can set a lower limit on the 3090 to be say 250W or even 200W. Performance will suffer, but you'll have full access to VRAM and it'll be quieter.
